Graz Spring School: Recombinant Expression in Yeast and PhD Progress Seminar
The second academic event of the BiocatCodeExpander consortium took place in Graz, Austria, from April 8th to 12th, 2024. This event was part of the BiocatCodeExpander Scientific Consortium training program, designed to provide doctoral candidates with in-depth knowledge and skills in extracellular enzyme production, cloning, and screening methods using Pichia pastoris.
The program featured two comprehensive lectures on recombinant protein production in Pichia pastoris, ranging from basic to advanced concepts. These lectures were delivered by Dr. Lukas Rieder and Dr. Anita Emmerstorfer Augustin from the Graz University of Technology. The workshop also focused on developing a complete skill set in participants and addressed various aspects of scientific design. In addition to the main workshop, the event included several parallel activities, such as the PhD Progress Seminar II, thesis committee meetings and a consortium board meeting
PhD students participating in the workshop were eligible to earn 3 ECTS credits.
