Scientific Writing & Conjugation Chemistry Online Workshop
From 2nd to 5th December, our DCs had the opportunity to participate in an online workshop on scientific writing and conjugation chemistry, hosted by our consortium member Dr. Omar Boutureira.
The workshop began with a two-day Scientific Writing course led by Dr. Ana Pineda. During these sessions, our DCs learned practical strategies to structure their writing, manage writing time effectively, maintain focus, and build confidence in communicating their scientific work.
This was followed by the Conjugation Chemistry School, featuring a series of expert lectures:
- Dr. Pedro M.P. Gois (University of Lisbon, Portugal), “Targeting N-terminal Cysteines in Bioconjugation”
- Dr. Macarena Sánchez Navarro (Instituto de Parasitología y Biomedicina “López-Neyra” – CSIC, Granada, Spain), “Back to the Future of Protein Chemistry: Cysteine-Based Protein Modification for New Applications”
- Dr. Ester Jiménez Moreno (Instituto de Química Orgánica General, IQOG–CSIC, Madrid, Spain), “An Introduction to Bioconjugation Strategies and Linkers for Protein Conjugates”
- Dr. Aldrin V. Vasco (University of Cambridge & CNIO, Madrid, Spain), “Cysteine Precision Chemistry for Next-Generation Bioconjugates”
In addition, all DCs presented updates on their research projects, leading to insightful discussions and valuable feedback from both PIs and DCs.
